7 September 2026 year at the Federal Research Center for Basic and Translational Medicine (G. Novosibirsk) a working meeting was held with a delegation of leading scientists from universities of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, including Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications and Northwestern Polytechnic University. The event was held as part of the Interdisciplinary Russian-Chinese seminar in the field of medical materials science, information technologies and biomedicine according to the SB RAS program.
Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences delivered welcoming remarks, Deputy Chairman of the SB RAS Mikhail Ivanovich Voevoda, Doctor of Science, Professor at Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Wang Lianhui, member of the disciplinary evaluation commission of the State Council of the People's Republic of China and academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Director of the Research Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine Lyubomir Ivanovich Aftanas.
Scientific presentations took place during the meeting, revealing the key areas of work of Russian research centers:

Head of Laboratory, Federal Research Center for Physics and Technology, Doctor of Chemical Sciences. Mikhail Aleksandrovich Shestopalov – research work on bioactive chemical compounds in medicine and veterinary medicine,
Director of the Research Institute of Molecular Biology and Biophysics, FRC FTM Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Valentin Andreevich Vavilin – technologies for using nucleic acid-based drugs for personalized effects on genes in malignant tumors.
After the reports, the participants discussed the presented developments and exchanged views in a short discussion. An important outcome of the meeting was the joint decision of the parties to further exchange research results, which opens up opportunities for joint projects and strengthening scientific and technical partnerships.
Participating in the event from the PRC were: 9 representatives of the CAS delegation, from Russia - academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences, professors, directors of institutes and leading researchers of the FRC FTM, NIINM and other institutions.
