The main direction of scientific research is the development of technology for obtaining new drugs for the treatment of socially significant diseases, study of pathophysiological mechanisms of the therapeutic effect of new drugs on in vivo models, conducting preclinical studies of new drugs according to the GLP standard.

A.V. Troitsky was the main developer of the technology for the production of oxidized dextran. From January 2010 year to september 2014 years was a responsible executor in the FTP grant: State contract No. 16.522.12.2001 "Development of technology and creation of a pilot production of oxidized dextrans" and the budgetary research project "Creation of new selective immunotropic drugs based on modified polysaccharides", responsible executor in the FTP grant: State contract No. 14.N08.12.000 “Preclinical studies of the drug substance Dextrazid” and in the budgetary research topic “Development of new molecular-nanosomal pharmaceutical compositions for targeted transport of drugs for the treatment of granulomatosis of infectious etiology and their complications based on the study of molecular and cellular mechanisms of their pathogenesis”.

A.V. Troitsky studied the main molecular and cellular mechanisms of the pharmacological action of oxidized dextran and developed the basic technological principles for its production.. In in vivo models, it has been found, that the pharmacological effects of oxidized dextran are related to its ability to activate macrophages through interaction with their beta-glycan receptors. As a result of this activation, macrophages produce a complex of anti-inflammatory cytokines and tissue proteinases.. A.V. Troitsky conducted studies of the therapeutic efficacy of oxidized dextran when administered inhalation on a model of pneumonia in mice., induced by intratracheal administration of Escherichia coli endotoxin, which showed its high anti-inflammatory and antifibrotic activity.

Based on oxidized dextran, promising dosage forms have been developed for the treatment of tuberculosis, viral diseases, including COVID-19, as well as in the complex therapy of infectious and inflammatory processes in andrology, urology and gynecology. Author over 50 scientific papers and more 20 patents.
