VII International Scientific Virology Conference “IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY AND SPREAD OF VIRAL INFECTIONS IN EURASIA” was held in Novosibirsk 21 – 23 October 2025 g on the basis of the Federal Research Center for Fundamental and Translational Medicine.

Reference: The Research Institute of Virology is a structural subdivision of the Federal Research Center for Basic and Translational Medicine (FIC FTM). The Institute is a leading scientific institution in the Siberian region, engaged in the comprehensive study of viruses, circulating in the wild, pets and humans, with the definition of their properties, including assessment of potential hazards.

Over three days, the event was attended by more than 100 Human, how in person, and online (reports from Japan, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Nigeria and South Africa). Program

Junior Research Fellow Research Institute of Virology Federal Research Center FTM Nokhova Alina Rifkatovna acted as a delegate from the Russian Federation at X Forum of Young Scientists of the BRICS Countries, which took place in Brazil in September 2025 of the year. The event brought together promising researchers from Brazil, China, Russia, Ethiopia, India, Iran, South Africa and the UAE to discuss current issues of modern science.

At the Forum, she presented the results of research in the field of human respiratory viruses, avian and bat viruses. Particular attention in the report was paid to the prospects for the development of metagenomic research as a key direction for predicting new epidemiological threats.

In addition to the official program, Forum delegates had the opportunity to communicate productively in an informal atmosphere during coffee breaks and cultural events. Participants visited Itamaraty Palace, Where is the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs located?. As Alina noted, the hospitable capital of Brasilia has created all the conditions for constructive dialogue and a warm atmosphere.

Thanks to this, the Forum has become a productive platform, where, during discussions and informal communication, new professional connections were established with colleagues from the BRICS countries. These contacts open up prospects for further international scientific interaction and implementation of joint projects.
